Canon Ixus 970is — Camera Review
My Wife is a point and shoot user and just purchased one of Canon’s recent additions to their impressive point and shoot collection. The Canon Ixus 970is with image stabilisation and many more features to make you drool. Canon’s digital cameras are built to last and feel strong and solid with their all metal bodies. The 970is looks very similar to the other models of this range but it looks good and very cool. Makes sense to carry on the impressive appearance if it looks good. This model has a slight curves edge on the right grip side which makes it feel very smooth and comfortable in your hand.
Features
Canon prides itself on producing high quality products which take minimum effort to operate and produce outstanding results. The Canon Ixus 970is completely proves this theory with amazing features such as a 10 mega pixel sensor, 5x zoom with enhanced optical IS, Motion Detection Technology, Face Detection technology, Red eye Correction, DIGIC III Processor and iSAPS, 2.5″ Pure Colour LCD II, 18 shooting modes and creative Movie options. What more could you ask for. We love the fact that Canon still insist on including a viewfinder on all of Canon’s models which proves to us and the world that they understand photography more than many others and see the necessity in having this feature.
Performance
The Canon Ixus 970is carries on from its mighty predecessors the Canon Ixus 950is and canon Ixus 960is, which have both failed to disappoint and perform outstandingly with immaculate results. The 970is is a perfect example of how Image Stabilisation should and does work with amazingly clear and sharp results. Colour reproduction is also extremely good. Start-up to shoot times are very good at just under 1.5 seconds and between shots only takes just under 2 seconds. Battery life is good and we would definitely recommend the 970is due to its outstanding performance and stunning design.
Pros + Good features + Good performance + Good design
Picture Quality 10/10
Setup Simplicity 10/10
